Getting started

Recoder reviews pull requests on your own machine. It checks out each change, reads the code around it and shows findings you can discuss, fix or dismiss.

Run with Docker

git clone https://github.com/aidan-neel/recoder
cd recoder
cp .env.example .env
docker compose up --build

The web app opens on localhost:3000 and the server listens on port 3001.

Run with Bun

bun install
bun run dev

The web app opens on localhost:5173 and the server listens on port 3001.

First review

  1. Add a model in Settings, or set the RECODER_REVIEW_* variables.
  2. Connect GitHub or GitLab in Settings so Recoder can read your pull requests.
  3. On Home, pick an open pull request or paste its URL. Press R to start a new review.
